Tavern On State - New Haven

The food and service at Tavern on State were both amazing. The flavors were incredible, and everything was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend trying the octopus - it's incredibly tender. Each dish had a complex pairing of flavors and textures, making the dining experience a journey in itself. My parents and I went here for their anniversary and we all agreed that we would love to return. Sharing small plates with a group is the best way to experience the wide range of interesting and inventive dishes offered here. This restaurant was rated the best up-and-coming restaurant by VisitCT for a reason. The intimate and stylish interior, along with a casual patio alley area, provide a nice range of settings to enjoy the delicious food. You will feel that every cent paid was more than worth it at Tavern on State. Don't miss out on trying this place before it becomes too popular to get in!

I absolutely adored Tavern! It's a hidden gem in New Haven and I'm thrilled that I finally had the chance to dine there. They offer a one-of-a-kind menu with unique dishes for both entrees and appetizers. I particularly loved the ambiance and the variety of cocktails on offer. First things first, our servers Lauren and Ashely were great, very kind and attentive. They were handling our table and others with absolute ease. Hats off to them for being great all around. Our food was hands down the best in New Haven. The kitchen was on their A-game tonight, and undoubtedly every other night. The bartenders were also amazing. My girlfriend and I got the ?Divide and Concorde?, we loved them. The drinks were made quickly and with consistency each time we got another round. If i could give this place a 6/5 I would. I?ve already recommended this place to everyone I possibly can. Thank you Tavern on State for a wonderful date night!!!

I absolutely adore the cocktails at this restaurant! I am eager to sample all of them. The food is equally outstanding. I ordered the pan-roasted prawns and was impressed by both the quality and portion size. We also enjoyed a delicious Caesar salad. I found the food to be a tad salty, but the atmosphere of the restaurant is truly fantastic.
