Contribuiți la feedbackI wish I could have my rating up to a 4.5, because this place was definitely better than a 4. I stopped for breakfast as part of reviewing new places in my community and found a new favorite. In addition to the standard diner tea they had crepes of both economical and sweet varieties, so I had to try this together with my usual bacon, eggs and pancakes. And because they looked amazing, I also added on one of their homemade cookies. Everything was great. Food service. Why not 5 stars? That was the cookie. Perfect, probably if I swallowed it in Gravy, it was just too close to the butter and jam I put on. Frankly, the light and fresh crepe and fluffy, tasteful pancakes put my expectations a little high. If you are in town and the Classic Cafe is open, stop. You'll be glad you did it and your stomach will be happy for hours.
Nice diner with delicious food. Great staff and service. The homemade Hollandaise sauce is one of the best we ever had.
I must say this restaurant has completed my perfect experience in Nevada City. My family and I hiked on the Deer Creek Tribute Trail and after we finished, we parked behind the amazing National Exchange Hotel. Enough of our trip. This restaurant has a beautiful French chef inspired menu with chefs that can do things quickly. The service was fast and very friendly. This place is a must to stop when you come to the area. I can't wait to come back here. That means, make sure you plan your meals with your trip because many places in the area are just breakfast and lunch or dinner, so there are a few hours not able to get food. All in all, I can't wait to come back Broad Street, especially for this restaurant.
Beautiful atmosphere and very friendly service, but I felt uncomfortable all the time because of the level of cleanliness. I had to wipe the flies away and when we were sitting on the counter, I just saw and waited every time the cook put a ready dish to see if a fly would land on the food. I also had a direct view on the cooktop and while it doesn't bother me especially if the person who prepares my food does not wear gloves, it struck me that this guy was treating the food more than necessary, for example, placing the English muffins with his bare hands and fumble with them where he used only a spatula to transfer them. The cleanliness of the toilet was honestly unacceptable and a look behind the scenes on the way to the toilet room was not super encouraging. For all this, the food was just okay, not really worth the price.
I don't usually do this review, but this place is terrible. The food was greasy, I still felt sick the following day. The tab was close to $50 for a hamburger, breakfast crepe, tea and a coke. Just a head up, over. One star is just because you have to give them something.
