Contribuiți la feedbackThey brought out the most generous serving bowls filled with cinnamon rolls, biscuits, gravy, cornbread, coleslaw, and beets. I thought that had to be the main meal, but I was mistaken. My server advised us to take our time since that was just the beginning. What followed were bowl after bowl of fried chicken, pot roast, Italian stuffed shells, mashed potatoes, corn mash, collard greens, green beans, and candied apples. Everything was simply fantastic—I went back for seconds on everything! Make sure to bring a big appetite, or consider skipping a meal before you visit. You won’t regret it!
The meals are served in shareable portions, perfect for family-style dining. For beverages, you can choose from sweet tea, unsweetened tea, water, or lemonade. The food is absolutely incredible, and the servers constantly bring out more dishes as long as you can handle them. The fried chicken is some of the best I’ve ever tasted. My favorite sides included the biscuits and gravy, macaroni and cheese, and corn casserole. I happened to visit on a day when they were serving meatloaf and chicken and dumplings, both of which were delicious. Honestly, it’s tough to choose a favorite since everything was so tasty. If you're planning a trip to Nashville, make sure to add Monell's to your must-visit list!
I like the family style seating and the idea of eating with strangers. It makes you connect to people and get to know people from all over. The wait is long. There were just 2 in my party and we waited well over an hour. The staff is nice and friendly . The food is all you can eat. There are lots of meat choices and side choices. Drink options are water tea fruit tea. I love the variety. The only option for dessert was strawberry shortcake and it was very good.
This was my first communal dining experience and I found it interesting. I am fairly introverted, so I don 't really like being forced to converse with strangers, but we were a party of two, so I don 't think there were other seating options. We were initially told it would be an hour wait, but because they seat so many people together at the large tables it did not take long at all for us to get inside. The first passing of food was two desserts and a salad and that was strange to me. I didn 't want to miss anything, so I took some of the banana pudding and just kept it on a separate plate to eat at the end of my meal. The other food tasted okay. My friend is a regular diner here and admitted the meal was only a 6.5. Meatloaf did not look appetizing when it came around, so I passed. The fried chicken was good. The cornbread lacked sweetness for me, but so did the sweet tea, which was more disappointing. The Mac and cheese was not baked, which threw me off guard a little bit, but the taste was fine. The corn pudding was pretty good. They did regularly check on our table to see if we needed more of anything, which was nice. Overall I am glad to have experienced it and I do think I would return for a different menu to give it another try.
Monelle's was definitely good. People in Nashville suggested it but never told us what type of restaurant it was. It's a family style restaurant a TRUE family style. You sit with other parties share the meal. They usually have a menu of the day they serve all you can eat of those items only. Everyone at our table were really nice. We had great conversations good food. It was a great experience I would do it again. The catfish was yummy, the chicken was tasty, the spinach lasagna was excellent. The sides were super yummy too. They serve pitchers of lemonade sweet tea of course I added both. I love half/half. And all this for only $25 it's a win win.
