La Belle-Iloise is a local company that produces high quality tinned fish (sardines, tuna etc) as well as soups, terrines, patés etc. This little restaurant in Nantes uses the lovely products in simply prepared but really tasty dishes. We enjoyed simple sardines with local salty butter and soft bread to start with as well as a lobster creme brulée that was really good. To continue, aubergine with sardines and lemon and a tuna lasagne were accompanied with dressed salad leaves and a great bottle of Muscadet. Service was friendly and efficient, the atmosphere relaxed and we would recommend it as a great spot for lunch.
