Baby Salsa - Nanaimo

Just discovered this place after living in Nanaimo for 20 years. The food was amazing my sister and I went for lunch on a Saturday and had Black Bean soup (to die for), and Tortilla soup (also delish) as well as tacos sooo good and all was very filling. The salsa was incredible and they are not afraid to go spicy! Will definitely go back with my husband he will love it. We chose to sit inside but the deck was a nice option too. And the service was great even though it was packed. Try it! You won't be disappointed! Can't believe I've never been before saw lots of takeout orders being picked up as well.

Great Staff and service. Small Restaurant on a corner of a square. Can be quite busy at times but thats coz they serve good quality food. Very filling and every dish I saw come come out of the kitchen for our table and others) looks good and fresh. My bf and I are glad we come across this place while on our way to the ferry terminal. Prices are decent as well not too expensive my tacos only cost 4.95 plus 1.25 extra for the shredded beef). Huge variety of vegan options for their current menu is also available

Legitimate Mexican food resto right in Nanaimo! Wasn't sure what to expect as its location is at a strip mall plaza was pleasantly surprised with the great food quality, authenticity lovely legit decor touches SOO happy that they served their Mexican drink Horchata (not an easy find in Canadian westcoast) and I ordered the tasty flautas. The rest of our group ordered fish tacos, veggie burrito, +2 more... no pics as everyone ate before I could snap one Our (Mexican) wait staff gave us complimentary chips salsa the chips are massive, crisp light! I'm making a b line for this place the next time I'm in Nanaimo

Wonderful mexican food!! we didn't expect a lot, but were craving mexican food. safe to say this place filled our cravings!! the enchiladas were delicious (we got cheese but would love to try chicken next time) the red and verde salsa sauce were good!! the del jardin vegetarian burrito was delicious and tasted fresh and refreshing! it was a good size as well!!! the fajitas were super good as well!!! the chicken was cooked deliciously! i recommend this restaurant if you are looking for mexican food in the area

From out of town and was in a pinch for a meal after missing my ferry. Wasn't initially expecting a lot from a tiny strip mall but wow was I wrong. Baby Salsa had GREAT authentic Mexican food. From the rice, salsa, and tortillas. I appreciated how large their menu was and how many options they had for vegan and vegetarians... they obviously put a lot of effort in catering to vegan Mexican food in additional to traditional meat forward dishes. I loved the food and I wish baby salsa was in my home town. Delightful surprise it was!!
