Chicken was the best for us, Käsespätzle was quitly good and speck with egg...too. Portions were big and right prices. Service was little bit strange, perhaps the girl was not in her right day....!
The coach took us to the cable car bottom station after we had been issued with nordic poles and snowshoes as we wanted to do the Mutterer mountain snow walk with our guides provided. Before we went on our snow walk we had lunch in...the restaurant where a set two course meal and free drink was included by NH. The first course was a beef clear broth with pancake strips and the main course was beef and mushroom served with pasta, both were really nice and the restaurant was so busy that other customers kept trying to join us but we had a reserved area so they had to leave. As it was so cold being up a mountain with all the skiers around we had a hot chocolate for our free drink as most of the others with us did. the views down the mountain from our table were great as well as it started to rain then turned to light snow so pretty. After lunch it was time to get our snowshoes fitted and set off on our snow walk. It was so tiring walking in snow and also what we didn't know was the walk was 8 km which is just under 5 miles in total and all the slopes you go down to get to the halfway stop for the drinking of Austrian tea, you have to climb back up again to get back to the start at the cable car station and restaurant? But we enjoyed both our lovely meal, our snow walk and the cable car ride up the mountain where we found lots of snow. John Sue Eastbourne UK
A good restaurant at the top of the Muttereralmbahn (Gondola Station). The Restaurant has self service and served Areas and a huge sunny terrace outside. Service is very friendly, fast and efficient. The Food is excellent best are the home made cakes and strudels... or try the Kaspressknödel excellent.
A few days ago I visited the ski resort in Muttereralm (Austria) with a bunch of kids in the group. Besides that it resulted to be pretty boring skiing on the very few slopes, we had the misfurtune to try to have a lunch at...midday in the so called Erlebnisrestaurant . This is literally the only place which could accomodate a bigger team, but the crew was simply not prepared to cope with a busy day. When we entered in the restaurant there was no place to take a sit, there was a huge crowd waiting in the bar. When I entered with 5 kids in a smaller room, I saw two big tables with reserved table on it, and I asked the waitress whether we could sit there to have a quick lunch. She refused it with Can 't you read? They 're reserved!! , and when I asked her to help me to feed all the kids, she simply answered: It 's your problem to have so many kids with you, go and find seats for yourselves! Not having other chance, we did so. It took almost one hour to get seated, and when we did the reserved tables were still empty... The food is good, if once you achieve it, but all in all it 's better to go to another ski area, particularly if you have kids around!
Gerne wieder!
