Lily's Dayton - Murlin Heights

Unfortunately my parents, my brother, and I were turned away on Thursday, 8/16/24 at about 7:35 7:40pm. A white caucasion male seemed frustrated and wanted to think of a way to deter us from ordering food. We had a reservation for 7:15pm! I was excited about trying out this eatery since we are not from Ohio and the ratings/reviews seemed solid. The waiter waisted our energy and time after serving us water and drinks as we patiently sat reviewing the menu. He shared that the wait for our food would be about an hour or possibly more since a 200 exaggerated number of customers were waiting for their food to be cooked by three chefs. He stated that we can come back when they are not so busy! Keep in mind that the place was not wall to wall packed! The sweet hostess who sat us outside never implied that the wait would be long and we should come back another day! My parents are elderly and it was extremely unprofessional of him to turn them away! It was interesting that no one else left the restaurant but the only black party of four. It was obvious that he did not want to serve us! We would never come back or even suggest this place to anyone after how we were treated! We did nothing wrong! We were excited for a new experience since we were in town for our annual family reunion! Thank you for letting us know how you truly felt about us!

First visit there, def will go back. Loved the skylite room!!! Food was A+

Food and service are good. Deviled eggs were coffee flavored. Not my favorite

Came for brunch a couple days ago. Food was amazing and came out so damn fast! Service was fantastic and I adore the patio. Highly recommend!

Lily's is consistently wonderful. The food, service, and atmosphere are always evolving. It's wonderful to have a favorite restaurant where there is always something new to try. If you haven't been recently, to now! The menu has likely changed. Vegetarian options: Vegan options too.
