Commodore on the Park - Mount Gambier

We were too exhausted to venture into town after a long drive, so we opted to try the restaurant at the motel. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was prompt. Our meals, including the whiting fillets and the duck, were delicious.

The food at this establishment came approximately 2 1/2 hours after we had ordered. The steak and spaghetti specifically came cold and the staff had to take it back and microwave it to be returned. The spaghetti as well was not cooked completely through and was still majorly crunchy as it would be if you ate it straight out the packet. Good food overall but would not recommend especially if you go hungry quickly and aren’t fan of an almost 3 hour wait.

Our last day of a memorable 10 day holiday ended very well with our choice of this restaurant. Good food and great service, well done Commodore staff.

We booked with misgivings to eat at the restaurant who eats at a motel restaurant if they have a choice? But the reviews were good, and the alternatives were poor. Not sure what's happened to Mt Gambier eating scene at night, so thank goodness for The Commodore. We'd eaten at The Barn the previous night so had an apples and apples comparison to make. The Commodore won very good food, lively, busy, good menu.

We spent the night in a King room. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated with high-quality furniture and fixtures. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom had been recently renovated. A great bonus was having access to the Tesla charger for our car overnight. We will definitely be returning to stay here again.
