First Watch - Montvale

Waffles are amazing! Bacon is thick and delish! Farmhouse hash wasn't great. Lots of burnt potatoes and lacking in bacon flavor. Used to be a favorite, but it's not as good as it used to be.

This is an issue I've unfortunately had several times with First Watch. They will hide an overcooked pancake under a better looking one. This time I ordered delivery and when I called to complain the manager never even called back. Another time in the restaurant it took three tries- a completely burned pancake, sent it back and got a gooey undercooked one, then finally ok on the third try. I gave two stars because when it's good, it's good. But consistency is not a guarantee here. Same went for the potatoes. Some days good, some days horribly undercooked.

Everything has been amazing except the coffe it tastes like cold milk... I'd rather cream and sugar but still taste the coffee. I want to ask less cream more sugar but there's no option for it. Actually really annoying to be honest. You spend a lot of money and can't tell them how you like your coffee... only reason I might switch it up because my coffee is a vital need to successful mornings.

The food is here SO good. I've yet to have something I didn't love. The buttered grits are my favorite, I break some of the bacon (which is always crispy and perfect) in it and some of the eggs. Best breakfast ever. The roast beef sandwich is also amazing, the meat is super tender and all of the flavors just pop. Love love love this place
