Best waitress ever..the Red head one.. Great food by the Chefs and amazing service from Allisson!!
Delicious...had a sushi craving and decided to find some place new. Had their shrimp numaki (rice paper and vermicelli in stead of rice and seaweed, was good but different tasting than sushi...very fresh tasting and lighter), kamikaze was one of the best I've had and little hosonaki avocados. Everything tastes great. And their spicy sauce is actually good, very HOT. Interesting different menu, I'll try it again!
Quite Good. I was totally running on empty one day, and found Sushi Yu Mi in a hungry stupor. I figured, 'Cute-boutique-ish sushi place, must be expensive, but I 'll spoil myself anyway. ' I 'm glad I risked it--and it didn 't hurt the wallet, either. I had take-out, and the hostess who served me was extremely friendly, enthusiastic, and made some great recommendations. The presentation of the takeout even surprised me--the hostess wrapped my container in ribbon and curled the ends--it brightened my day! It 's true that the fish is whirred and mixed in sauce, but the product is still fresh, hearty, and succluent--and doesn 't use anywhere near as much rice as other places. I didn 't even want to add pickled ginger for fear of ruining the delicate cocktail of flavours in each roll. I 've tried the spicy salmon, kamikaze, a blueberry-tuna roll (which was GREAT. , and a mango roll. I went back a second time just to make sure that my opinion wasn 't initially swayed by delirious hunger, and the sushi was just as incredible!<br/ <br/ Will definitely be back!
Sushi Yu Mi Westmount. Went for lunch last week. My friend and I each had the 15 piece, and ordered the 10 piece to share. In all it was adequate and actually the sushi was very well made, not too much rice which I find is usually the case. The miso soup was thin and lacked flavour though. My waitress could have feigned some sort of enthusiasm. It appeared obvious that she didn't want to be there. I asked her something specific about a certain vegetable in the rolls, it wasn't the content of her reply that bothered me but the sarcasm, as if to say, don't you know these things? Best of all, is the mere fact that I'm always polite and never condescending, and this is how I am received, a youngish, unhappy server. Putting her aside, we enjoyed the food and would go back for lunch.
