While it is usually bright and appears to be cheerful, it is just so empty and unwelcoming. You can not honestly pretend to not know why this place is so empty. But stores don 't pull people into the whole mall. Stores leaving have killed the groups that would go.
It's clean. The (mostly empty) shop doors are decorated in a pleasing way. Majority of open shops are just large chain stores seen elsewhere, which can afford to be there. Would like to see more local growing businesses.
It's sad to say, but this mask is probably on its last leg. The bigger stores are not able to pull in the people, foot traffic is way way down from its peak. No food court, stores are hanging on, and there is no energy in the building. I don't know what will happen when we lose these great community buildings, but I personally know I will be sad. Malls were places of interaction and life. People socialized and connected to others in a way that cannot be repeated in other ways. It's and end of an Era, that will never be seen again. Sorry, it's sad but true. I wish I could recommend this place, but I would be lying to you if I said that. Sad.
Because the stores at Southpark are no more. And the outside restaurant are junk. Especially Steak N' Shake, because they absolutely never get your order right. If your eating in or if ordering at the counter to take with you. The orders are wrong every time.
