The absolute best frozen custard ANYWHERE! Their smoothies are also incredible! The best part of summer in Dutchess County!

I came back to the NWC to visit my parents on our way to a family event. I texted a friend who lives in the area and, jokingly, told her that I was home for the night and she should take me out for ice cream. Shortly thereafter, I got a text back: Custard in Millerton? Wait, what? There 's a custard place in Millerton? We came upon it, and I remember perhaps another ice cream place being there a few years back. I normally venture up to Great Barrington if I want ice cream, not Millerton, so I 'm not up on my game for that town. Sure enough, upon entering, the base options were low; in other words, there really are just options for vanilla, chocolate, and vanilla chocolate custard, plus some frozen yogurt, but you can sure do a lot with it! The list of smoothies, sundaes, et al, was expansive! One friend opted for the traditional vanilla chocolate twist cone. My other friend went for a hot fudge sundae with vanilla custard, complete with a cherry on top. I decided to me healthy and went for the Creamsicle smoothie, a combination of vanilla custard, orange juice and bits of freshly peeled orange. Indeed, it really tasted like the quintessential Creamsicle! The food game in the little town of Millerton has been surprisingly on-point the past few years, and Barlow Farm provides a wonderful dessert option for the people around town.
