Contribuiți la feedbackI came here once with my mom at 3 pm, after a shopping morning, and the staff was really welcoming and kind, considering that in many places at 3 they wouldnt even accept you. We chose the menu of the day and it consisted of 4/5 dishes, starting from a meat tartare to the dessert. Everything was delicious and also well presented. The price for the menu, not including water was about 15€ each
I don 't know what others liked about this place but we we 're very disappointed. We came for dinner 9pm it was empty. Waiters gave us menu of drinks. When I asked what about food? His answer was: you will get snacks with the drinks. I explained: I mean dinner! So finally he gave us a menu. Swordfish was tasteless, risotto-I can make it better myself and believe me I am not fan of a cooking. It seems that this place is for lunch as it is in office building. Not typical Italian, not romantic, not even tasty or fun.
To get to this restaurant you need to get off at the Gioia stop on the green line. When you get out of the subway you only see officeblocks and busy roads... not a very charming location. The restaurant is probably more a lunch place for officeworkers but is also open at night. Decor is simple and modern, service is relaxed and efficient. The food is really great and innovative. Good spot for some creative food. The location is not very alive, but 1 subways stop away and you are at the lively Corso Como area. A bit of a hidden gem!
My friends and I were curious to see the new highest skyscraper in Milan built for the Expo 2015. A few steps from the Green Metro Station Gioia, we saw the beautiful 161.3m crystal building that, at the top of the 40th floor, has a copy of the “Madonnina” that shines on the Duomo of Milan. The Milanese tradition says that She always protect Milan from its highest building so now She lives even there. At the steps of the new Palazzo Lombardia we saw a new lounge restaurant full of people smiling and drinking champagne. We decided to have a look at the design skyscraper after and try to get into the “Il Santa bistro ' moderno”. We were really lucky because in the middle of the week they still had the last table for three. The young owner, Stefano Grandi, has a rich pedigree: before opening Il Santa, he was Chef at Dolce e Gabbana, Langosteria 10, Caffe ' Savona and Hotel Visconti Palace the most glamorous places in Milan for fashion! We decided to let him suggests us his new gourmet creations. First of all we started with a flute of Veuve Cliquot Il Santa is Brand image restaurant and Stefano Grandi is preparing the main event in Milan for Dom Perignom! We chose three antipasti”: a kind of spicy“Sicilian sushi”with red tuna, capers and sundried tomatoes, then snapper carpaccio with celery, lime and incredible crunchy black rice and a fried SanPietro fish on yellow beans and spinach leaves. Every dish was juicy, tasty, perfumed but meanwhile light so we continued with “gold” fusilli with cod mousse, black pepper and pecorino cheese and then fresh made spaghetti with marinated anchovies , tuna roe and tomato confit, and a creamy risotto alla milanese with quail egg and lemon peel. They suggested us the right wine from a different region of Italy and we enjoyed every bite. Meanwhile people we were eating at the tables, there was a group of twelve people waiting for their turn to sit that were drinking aperitivo at the lounge and were delighted by different “finger food temptations” coming from the kitchen for them. It was very pleasant and when Stefano came out from the kitchen to ask if we were satisfied, of course yes! he suggested us a dessert wine from Pantelleria Island to taste the Sicilan Cannolo with sweet ricotta, the chamomile crème caramel with red fruits and flowers, and the chocolate salami with bananas ice cream and vanilla biscuit. After this experience we forgot to visit the state of the art skyscraper because we were yet in paradise!
