Bob's Big Boy - Milan

As a former server, I understand how challenging it can be when customers arrive close to closing time. We came in 35 minutes before closing. Our server, Chelsea, was everything but friendly. I ordered a meal and mentioned the salad bar, to which she replied that it was closed, despite there being food still on it. Then she returned to inform me they didn't have the ingredients to complete my order. I accepted that and said I didn't want to see the menu. My husband had ordered a salad that was nearly ready. When we placed our order just 15 minutes earlier, we could overhear the cook cursing about our presence, making us feel very unwelcome. I advised my husband to get his salad to go, which he did. We left a two-dollar tip, feeling that was all the service warranted. As I stood outside our car smoking—since I don’t smoke inside—it was disheartening to hear our server cursing at us for leaving a small tip. She even shouted at us from the window. After we left, I called the manager to express my concerns, but she claimed she couldn't control the cook's language and mentioned that the server thought my husband and I were arguing when we were simply standing there. Overall, I was very disappointed and will never return to that restaurant again!

Then, when I placed my order, she returned to say they didn’t have the ingredients to make it. I reiterated that I wanted to place my order. My partner had already ordered a salad, and we could see that it was almost ready. After about 15 minutes, we overheard the cook discussing our presence, which made us feel unwelcome. I told my partner to go ahead and get his salad. He did, and we left a $2 tip for the server. Afterwards, I stood outside the car with my partner, smoking because I don't smoke in the car. To our dismay, we heard the server cursing us for leaving a bad tip and even yelling more from the window in our direction. When I called the manager shortly after we left, she mentioned that she couldn’t control the kitchen staff and that the server had "thought and fought" while we were there. I will never return to this establishment!
