Ordered full rack of ribs. Got half, instead. 25 minutes to replace. Half of 8 oz tri tip was not edible. My baked potato way over cooked. When I asked for a replacement, I was told every baked potato they had was overcooked. Brutally slow service in a mostly empty restaurant. Easy to see why it was empty at prime time on a Saturday night.
Dominique was very attentive to our needs, and gave us time to play catch up. She realized that we hadn’t seen Wachovia other in years so she didn’t rush us to order. She was very sweet and helpful I will definitely be back to this location and I hope to be placed with her again.
My wife and I went to BJ's last year and were very impressed--good food, good service, maybe a bit pricey but flavor and quality of entrees was great, so not a deal breaker. We went back this week, and it was a different experience. Our waitress disappeared several times and took a while to take order then was a long time til our food came. We ordered dessert to go since it was $3 Pizookie night, and again it took a noticeably long time to receive our to-go order and the check. In fact, another waiter took care of us, bringing out food and then the check. We asked him if we could leave him the tip for noticing our situation and covering, but he just laughed and said not to worry, that he basically floated to help the other staff. I should mention that there were 3-4 tables filled (not counting the bar who had their own wait staff) and at least 2-3 waiters for restaurant side, so not sure what was going on. A very slow night, in other words. What should have been an hour meal with a to-go dessert took right at two hours. I ordered an Asian peanut chicken with noodles and while the flavor was awesome, the portion was extremely small. It had about a half of a chicken breast, cubed, about a 1/4 cup of broccoli florets and maybe a cup of noodles. Served in a shallow soup bowl, it barely covered the bottom. I asked the waiter who brought it out if it was the lunch portion, and he smiled and apologized, saying that they get that a lot with that item. I left feeling like I had had an appetizer and my stomach was waiting for the meal to come down. All in all, not a pleasant evening like in the past at this restaurant. My wife had a shrimp with quinoa and cauliflower and liked it. Her portion was normal to large, so not sure why I was cheated with a child-size amount of an otherwise wonderfully flavored dish.
Food was great! Didn't have to wait for a table on a Saturday night. Parking is the only issue.
