Fantastic little shop just up the road from the Melrose bus station. They have the best ice-cream in town with other goodies from tablet to millionaire's shortbread and an assortment of boiled sweets and fancy confectionery. You can sit-in at the window, or if it's a nice day, sit outside with a great view of the Abbey. On colder days you might fancy a coffee or a hot chocolate. There is one step leading into the shop and it is too small to accommodate most wheelchairs or pushchairs. The staff are wonderful and so friendly, they may be able to take wheelchair users orders and pass them out, but you would definitely need to check with them first. Parking is always a bit difficult in Melrose as it's a very popular and busy place, but it's definitely worth the effort for the twelve different flavours from original to pistachio! Weekends and holidays are exceptionally busy times, especially in the warmer weather. Sometimes there is a line out the door! I highly recommend the Highland Toffee (and the hot chocolate). Enjoy!
Great ice cream. Stopped in x3 days in a row on a surprisingly sunny break raspberry ripple, buneno, and strawberry flavours were sampled and all were excellent.
Thank you so much for using a clean scoop and a fresh batch of icecream to ensure that it was gluten-free! This is appreciated. The icecream was superb too!
Heart of Scotland tour stops in Melrose for lunch and I saw this place after my meal. It's what an ice cream shop should be, quaint, fresh, with great service. I had the most amazing coconut mango ice cream in a cone with chocolate glazing. Can't miss here.
