It is not a fancy place where you pay a premium for service. Instead, you can expect a tasty, well-presented dish that is just the right amount. The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner, with simple and slightly crowded decor. However, don't let that deter you from trying the food. Your taste buds will thank you. They also offer a loyalty card, and we often come here for lunch due to the affordable and tasty authentic Thai cuisine. Although it may not be the best choice for a romantic dinner, the food is definitely worth trying.
This place opened up some time in 2012 without fanfare and proceeded to surprise us. The food is delicious and my husband, who loves authentic cooking, loves eating here. There is nothing pretentious here. You aren't paying $8 for a lunchtime meal to get silver service. What you do get is a delicious dish, not too much or too little, well presented and authenticate. It's open for ouch and dinner, and the decor is utilitarian and a bit crowded, but don't let that put you off eating here. Your taste buds will live you for it.They have a loyalty card. We eat here for lunch a lot....it's cheap, tasty, authenticate Thai food that you won't regret trying. Would I come here for a romantic dinner? No.
I bought meals through Spreets on speculation and took my Thai girl there last night. It was very hot and spicy food with draught Singha to help it down. many Thai restuarants in Australia tend to dumb down the food and it is chinese or malaysian influenced which is not right. Rice, soup and not a knife in sight. If you love authentic Thai, in particular Isaan food, this place will suit. Not so much romantic but no nonsense tasty food , cold beer and efficient service. The only drawback is it does not have toilets but you duck up Healeys lane to the carpark.
I highly recommend trying the chicken pad Thai and the cashew chicken at this restaurant. The atmosphere is great and we were so happy to discover this place!
I discovered this lively restaurant tucked away in a small alley near Collins Street in Melbourne's Central Business District.
