The Wooden Elk - Melbourne

What a lovely restaurant. It is a shame that they only open for breakfast and lunch because we would have definitely gone there for dinner during our Melbourne stay. We made the most of the breakfast time though, filling up before our busy days ahead. Great paleo options on the menu so beneficial for those with food allergies and intolerances. The breakfasts are huge, you do not leave hungry. Their coffee is also amazing.

I come out often for a nice Paleo breakfast at this cool joint. The service is always great and the breakfast is awesome as well. They do a really good fresh orange juice and have good coffee. They just need to be a bit quicker to get food on my he table, as you need to wait for at least 20 minutes for scrambled eggs. The food is worth the wait, unless you are I a hurry to get back to work.

As I am on a low carb high fat diet, finding out there is a Paleo Restaurant near my office was great. So went there for lunch today. 1 girl working at the counter, not sure how many are working in the kitchen, but by my estimation, its approximately 1/2 or less. Myself and my workmate were waiting 30 minutes for food. The table next to us were waiting just as long, and the poor girl had ordered a dish with no meat, only to have it arrive with bacon on it. Now if the food had been super awesome, I would rate it higher, but neither my burger nor my workmates calamari were anything beyond average. For the price they charge, it is incredibly disappointing. Sad to say, I cannot see the business lasting if this is the level of service they provide.

Went here a couple of times for breakfast. A paleo inspired cafe with a pizza oven. Had the Vegie Rosti/Hash and also the pancakes, great coffee. The #1 though, both waitstaff on different days were really friendly & made the breaky all the more enjoyable.

Three of us went here for breakfast on Saturday and it was awesome! We ordered the vegie hash browns, primal plate, paleo burger and the pancakes between us all and all the meals were brilliant. I'd say they took longer than average to come out, however we didn't mind because we were catching up with a friend we'd not seen in ages. Food truly was excellent and apparently the coffee was great too - I only had water but the boys had lattes and long blacks. I'd say the favourites were the primal plate and burger, but for paleo pancakes, I thought they were pretty tops! Will definitely be back!
