The service and atmosphere at this local gem are excellent, offering Indian, Pakistani, and Afghan cuisine. We chose the Afghan and Pakistani dishes, which are more rare to find in Canberra. We started with the Afghani mixed plate, featuring a variety of tandoori dishes such as lamb cutlets, fish, seekh kebab, and chicken, all cooked to perfection. The Laziza Nihari, a slow-cooked beef shin in a rich, flavorful gravy, was outstanding. The meat was tender and fell off the bone, served in a charming earthenware pot with a wooden ladle. The Lazzat chicken was also deliciously spicy and tender. Instead of rice, we opted for the tandoori roti and baluchi naan, which were fluffy and complemented the curries well. We will definitely be coming back again!
We visit this restaurant regularly and always enjoy the food. The prices are fair, the portions are generous, and they make a fantastic Lassi! The only downside is that there may not always be enough staff to handle both dine-in customers and takeout orders.
We were almost put off by the reviews but Laziza House was a pleasant surprise. The service was a bit slow but the food was delicious. We had Mango Chicken, Prawn Vindaloo and Palak Paneer, all of which were superb. The serves were a good size and prices were about average (about $16-18 a dish).
I have been wanting to try out our local indian for some time. What a disappointment. I ordered some takeout which included two naan breads and a platter of vegetarian entrees. This cost $22. What we got was two tasteless small breads, two oliy samosas and 10 oily overcooked tasteless dip fried vegetables. When I rang to provide my disappointment and ask what happened to the rest of the vegetarian entrees i was told this was it. Cost $16.10. If we bought as two entrees would have cost $14.20. Would never eat here again. Suprised that they have managed to stay open for so long.
