Meat Cove Chowder Hut - CAPSTICK

We drove off the Cabot Trail to go to Meat Cove with the intertion to eat at the Chowder Hut. It was rainy, cloudy, foggy, we ate inside; but it was so worth it! Had mussels as an appetizer, very fresh and tasty. Not a lobster season so my husband had Fish Cake, but I came for the chowder and chowder it was :))Delicious savoury heaven.. I truly recommend and i hope to return one (sunny) day and enjoy it again

Before bringing our RV we heard a few comments about the road. Really wasn't too bad and definitely experienced worse driving to Baddeck on the main Cabot Trail. Views from our campsite were fantastic. Easy walk to the beach and up to a wonderful lookout picking wild raspberries on the way up. Patty in the Chowder Hut was super friendly and sitting outside eating with the view and a bowl of chowder was great. Definitely the highlight of our tour around Cape Breton.

The restaurant view from the deck is breathtaking. Our server, Patty was very friendly, displaying true east coast hospitality, and efficient. I had clams and fries. French fries are one of my guilty pleasures and these fries were the best I have had! One of my companions had the chowder and raved about it. The restaurant is worth the drive!

Drove there for a lobster roll and chowder Don't make lobster rolls, anymore.We're out of chowder, but the staff was amazing and found us two bowls.View is worth the drive, chowder is thick and tasty.Staff is like all of Nova Scotia, friendly and outgoing.Raised with proper hospitality

Le sympathique Justin nous accueille en nous trouvant une place, c'est sûr, quitte à nous corder les uns contre les autres un peu trop à notre goût mais... QUELLE VUE! Ça vaut le coup! La plage en contrebas ressemble à une calenque, les toilettes/douches (1$) sont un peu éloignées du haut plateau mais... QUELLE VUE! Au petit resto nouvellement ouvert, nous avons savouré de bonnes moules vapeur et des frites (qu'elles étaient dé-lec-tables!!!) et y repasserons dès que nous serons de retour dans le secteur, c'est certain. Merci à nos 2 serveuses (l'intéressante volubile et énergique peite blonde et la calme pausée souriante intelligente future RCMP) qui ont été très sympathiques! La route pour se rendre au camping est plutôt faite de courbes périlleuses et il faut s'assurer de ne pas trop s'approcher du bord de la route qui à plusieurs endroits s'effondre, mais... QUELLE VUE! Et en plein mois de juillet, même si j'y étais allée seule, je ne m'y serais sentie en sécurité et m'y serais amusée en rencontrant des gens biens sympathiques.
