Pepe's Mexican Restaurants - Matteson

Great staff drinks and food at this location. I can't vouch for others but they do it right here..

I enjoy going to this location for the half price margaritas every Tuesday and Thursday. These drinks have a good amount of alcohol in them, they aren’t watered down and they taste really good. I love their chips and salsa, and the food isn’t bad either. I will say to check your bill before paying. They do add a 20% gratuity. I’m not sure if that is just with dinner service or with the half price margarita days or both, but be mindful of this when tipping. Also, their suggested gratuity includes the tax in the calculation; typically it’s calculated without tax. Overall this is a good spot to have a drink and hang out with friends.

The building looked like it should be condemned. It looked like someone barfed in the parking lot.

Its been a while since I order from Pepe"s in Matteson and now i remember WHY. the food was NOT Good. the Tomales I ordered with my beef burrito dinner was dry, small, and didn't look appetizing. call restaurant spoke to a young lady to voice my unhappiness with the food . her only response was that's why we put sauce on the Tomales and we don't make them in the restaurant. didn't offer any apology. The rest of the food also not good.

The Mayan combination and two more appetizers. Just perfection. Good old fashion Mexican style comfort food.
