Contribuiți la feedbackI generally don't bother to take the time to write a negative review, but since there are so few dining options in Marmoutier, I would like to help future travelers. Based on Trip Advisor reviews, we made a reservation for dinner. I should have known from the telephone conversation that it would not be a great choice. The owner/hostess/server was abrupt and verging on rude, but I decided that maybe I was difficult to understand with my accent. I made a reservation for 20h00 sand prayed for the best! We arrived at our accommodation earlier than expected, so we decided to head into town and walk around. We had about 1 1/2 to kill, but we figured that, like the rest of Framce, we would find shops open until 19h30 (especially the Saturday before Christmas). Well, this town is very small and pretty quite, so nothing was open. We stopped by the restaurant and asked if we could dine early. She said she could take us at 19h30, so I said fine and we walked around for the next 45 minutes. We returned to the restaurant at 19h30, and she showed us to our table. The place was empty, but I was not overly concerned. She brought us menus and we ordered shortly thereafter. Service was fine...we were the only table for the entire time we were there (1 1/2 hours). The food was a disappointment. Without taking the time to go into details, the entrées were probably purchased at the local LeClerc....definitely did not taste homemade. The steak and the veal were okay, but nothing fantastic. The side dishes were okay, but again nothing great. If you are going to spend the money to go out in Mamoutier, plan To splend a few more € and go to what looked like a much better restaurant down the street.
