Congee Wong Restaurant - Markham

CONSUMER WARNING: We found a very small metal shard in the congee. Such a foreign object planted in your food might not be detected and could easily and very painfully lodge itself in your throat or digestive system, and take considerable time to even find as the cause, much less surgically extract. Upon bringing this to the attention of management, they promptly disposed of the item so that it could not be traced and said that the tip was not included the bill. We have come here before in past, but not recently, but it appears that the customers have already rendered a failing verdict on this place. When we came at what should be a busy weekend hour, the place was mostly vacant. I can only infer that they have been taking unsatisfactory short-cuts that have drove away the huge line-ups that used to be here. Any place that takes your safety so lightly should be avoided for the health of your family. I intend to contact the city health inspector about this incident. Safe dining.

I go there often to have a real authentic Chinese food to meal. The service is fast food is fresh restaurant just came and we always come away very satisfied from the delicious food.

My grandfather is Cantonese so our whole family would go to Chinese restaurants every weekend when we were kids. Their dishes reminded me of those times. Their Peking duck, roasted pork, crispy noodles, cold cuts, congee are top notch! We went here twice during our Toronto vacation.

My Family loves eating here. One of the more Authentic Chinese restaurants near us, the food is always served fast and is very well prepared. It all comes at a price though and that is poor service. Nobody seems to want to take your order and when they do, once the food is served, you can forget about getting any more service. It would be interesting to see how long the Good Food vs. Lousy Service Delta will keep this poorly managed restaurant chain open. Both the Richmond Hill and Thornhill (Promenade Mall) locations suffer the same terrible service issues.
