Opan - Funchal

We had some different things (can’t remember what though) but it wasn’t something special. The food was rather boring actually. The price was low though, so taken that into consideration, it’s an alright place I guess.

Love this Opan and the one next to La Vie...and every other one we have visited. Usually busy but worth waiting for a great selection of cakes or quiche etc. The coffee is also excellent. At the Forum you can sit and watch the world go by. Great Queijada cheese cakes. Superb value for money

I visited here in January 2019 and never again. I use a superb coffee shop just round the corner but the PURPOSE of this critique is is to express my thanks to the BRILLIANT Opan in Funchal round the corner from the La Vie shopping centre. I have stopped here this December several times to buy a made to order roll (the seaded rolls are great) I have found it impossible to put on a review because it directs me to the Forum Opan. The problem of that place is waiting to place an order, waiting to get served and (the ultimate insult) to wait in a queue to pay. Keep up the fine service in the Fuchal centre branch.

We dropped on this place. Great coffee. Fantastic reasonable if not quite cheap prices. Have been back several times during our week stay. Staff friendly. Cakes so good. Worth a visit. €1.35 for a 350ml bottle of coke. €1.10 for coffee. Nice and relaxed cafe with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
