Small shop with seating area or take away.... Fantastic Ice cream and desserts with flavour to die for. Try the Extra Black ice cream...WOW! The stracciatella WOW.... Limone WoW! Good service, good prices, fairly easy to stop outside in a car.

I have had gelato every single day and in every place I visit in Italy and this is by far the best place yet! I had it 3 days in a row and drove 50 minutes away to have it again. Amazing!!!

This ice cream shop is not easily accessible as you have to stop in the middle of a very busy road. However, it is well worth it and you will be surprised to see how many locals actually go out of their way to get their ice cream here! The shop has a good variety of flavours and service is always very friendly, patient and with a smile. If you like dark chocolate you must try the extra dark flavour. A tip if you can't decide which flavours you want: the staff is always happy to let you sample a flavour before you order!

We first called here for our pudding after dinner at Il Ciancino, which is 100 yards up the road and also well worth a visit. It 's an unprepossessing gelateria, small and right on the main road out of Lucca towards Viareggio, but the ice cream and frozen yoghurt is sensational. Now, when we come back to Lucca, we 'll happily drive 10 Kms to sample the delicious flavours. Father and son run the business, and they proudly showed me the local paper which has them rated as the top gelateria in the commune of Lucca no small boast. A piccolo size (which is two scoops to us) will cost you a mere €1.50, and it 's worth every Euro cent. They also do take aways in polystyrene 'keep cold ' tubs. An absolute gem do give it a try.
