They offer a variety of noodles, including regular, dry, and fried. You can sit at the food counter and watch as they prepare the dishes right in front of you. Don’t miss out on the steamed dumplings—they're a must-try! Most dishes are priced between $12 and $15. The food is fresh, delicious, and served in generous portions. They also provide takeout options, which many people appreciate to avoid long waits. If you’re in Lubbock, you definitely need to check this place out!
This popular noodle house had a long wait to get in, but it was well worth it. There’s a sign-up sheet outside near the front door, and they’ll call you when your table is ready. While we waited, we strolled over to Hobby Lobby to browse. I ordered the spicy beef bowl, which had plenty of meat and a rich broth, along with a generous serving of noodles. The service was both efficient and courteous. Make sure to come with a big appetite, as the portions are quite large. My daughter ordered the fried pork bao and really enjoyed them.
These are the best steamed dumplings I've ever tasted! I really appreciate that they have chili oil available at the table since I love it. The bao was fantastic, and the noodles were on point. I will definitely be returning to this place!
The bao buns were small, about the size of soup dumplings, but unfortunately, they were either bland or too sweet. The wide noodles with cumin and chicken were served cold and also overly sweet. I had to add salt, pepper, chili oil, and soy sauce just to balance the sweetness, but even then, it was still too sweet for my taste. The cucumbers were wilted and were perhaps the closest dish to having authentic flavor, though that's not saying much since it was just vinegar, cucumber, and chili oil. As for the boba, it was watered down; while I anticipated it being sweet, it turned out to be tasteless—you couldn't really detect the tea or milk flavor. While this place might appeal to some diners, it didn't work for me, and if I'm asked to return, I'll politely decline.
The food was excellent. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with shrimp, and it was packed with flavor. It came with a whole egg instead of just half, which was a nice touch. I also tried the pork dumplings, and they were fantastic as well. The staff was friendly and attentive. Having been to numerous ramen shops in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, I can confidently say that Fun Noodle Bar either exceeds or matches many of them. I highly recommend checking it out!
