Rainbow Acres - Los Angeles

Very well stocked,friendly health food store. They are the only store with my favorite chips. Juice bar provides fast service. Employees are helpful and knowledgeable about store items and health. Lots of prepared foods. Parking lot isn't adequate;but, street parking is available.

I had read about this place on happycow, and here's my Rainbow Acres review. I was so impressed by the large selections of natural foods and lifestyle products this Rainbow Acres location offers. It's much much bigger than their other location in Marina del Rey. You can find everything you need plus so much more. Just from browsing all the isles, I ended being in there for over an hour! Rainbow Acres has their own bakery that makes all kinds of fresh baked goods (some with egg, some with dairy, but not sure if any vegan). Their kitchen also makes these yummy fried tortilla chips (yes fried but YUM). In their deli you can find some vegan suitable food in the hot bar, soup selection, as well as the salad bar. There's also grab n go sandwiches and salads. The juice bar lets you customize your juices and smoothies. The selections offered here are much bigger than the ones at my local co-op store where I shop (Santa Monica Co-opportunity), and I was impressed to find a lot of brands and foods I hadn't seen or noticed at my local co-op. Price-wise, the rates are a bit higher though you can find good sale prices throughout. However it's understandable that independent stores have higher costs than large market chains (like Whole Foods). I felt good about shopping here and supporting the store. Check it out!

I was really surprised at how this gem of a small town style natural food store had escaped my notice. I've been to other Rainbow Acres and none of them were this big. Its sort of like a maze inside, there are all these corners that lead to different sections (the beer/wine is hidden at the end of the vitamin room). The staff is extremely helpful.

Love this place, and shop here frequently. Their Supplement section is fantastic and the employees throughout the store are always kind and helpful. I particularly would like to recognize assistant manager Allison. I hope upper management can recognize her attention and care in some way. The fact that it's a co op, has great products for consumption and for external body care, has fresh cafe food as well its the entire package in one! The only suggestion I would make for the store is that the produce is a tad pricy, so I prefer to shop at local farmers market for fruits vegetables. Other than that the packaged goods and all else great quality price. Many thanks to this store the people involved!
