Contribuiți la feedbackI went here for a work lunch and booked the lunch set menu with three courses and a glass of champagne. For £33.50 this has to be one of the best deals in London for the quality of the food. As expected the staff were very attentive and very good natured throughout. From the start the good was fantastic and a great experience. Before the first course we were given a selection of crackers made from seaweed, herring and squid ink which were surprisingly good. This was followed by a small but tasty soup, although I forgot to ask what it was. Then Icelandic Smørrebrød, a lovely combination of salmon, prawns and vegetables. The main course was a true piece of dining theatre with duck leg served on a forest floor diorama. More duck came with various winter vegetables, all of which was fantastic and full of flavour. Desert was a special Icelandic ice cream with Mandarin and rye bread crumbs which was a lovely delicate combination of flavour and texture. As an added extra we were also given macaroons and rich truffles. Aside from the quality of the food, the portions and extras made for a very filing meal which isn't always the case in these type of restaurants. Highly recommended and I will be back soon.
Absolutely amazing experience that went beyond all expectations. I called in advance to tell them we were celebrating my mother's birthday, and they created such a delightful surprise! Food was incredibly interesting and the champagne was superb. The staff were excellent and thoroughly knowledgeable. The French lady sommelier with brown hair in a pony tail (I didn't catch her name) gave the best service I have ever received at a restaurant. We had a great 3 course menu and will definitely book for the 5 course soon.
£35 lunch set menu (although turned out to be £48 after water service), perhaps as valuable as fine dining can be in London. Service is pretty good, although some could be more attentive not to take food away before guests are finished...! Food is delicious. Ambiance is great so you can have a nice conversation without much noise.
To bring it to the point : far beyond our expectations. After reading reviews and looking at the front door rewards, we expected a lot more than regular food . The fanciest dish was the amouse Bouche with different flavours like mint and peas. The asparagus was quite tasteless. No special spices or flavours. The salmon was of course very soft and accompanied with a good sauce. My pigeon as well as the lamb was at the point cooked and as well very soft. But that was it. No special flavours, sauces, spices. All was nice presented on the plates, but simple with no outstanding taste. And this is what we expect from a restaurant with a Michelin Star and other references. Interior is nice, and the waiters friendly and attentive. The wine recommendation was also excellent. But you get that also somewhere else.
Staff are attentive and friendly. Food is excellent and you get what you pay for. You will find this restaurant living up to its name as TEXTURE is definitely a strong element in what they serve. The overall ambience is top notch and I really love the bar area with the open, relaxed seating in front of it. It’s adds a nice contrast to the more formal dining hall. Will definitely be back for more though slightly disappointed as my friend mentioned that the menu did not vary much from the last time he was here 2 years ago!
