Contribuiți la feedbackI highly recommend trying the signature menu at this restaurant. The dishes are well presented and full of exquisite flavors. The wine pairing rounded out the meal, making it a truly memorable experience. This is the perfect spot for a special occasion.
I loved browsing the menu, but was disappointed to find that some items were not available, which was a bit of a letdown. However, the young lady who served us was attentive, friendly, and handled our large group with ease. I would definitely return to this restaurant in the Waterloo area to try the items I missed out on this time.
I had a pleasant experience at this restaurant, from the friendly host and bar staff to the quick retrieval of my coat. The staff here really make a difference. Our server, Toufik, went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was truly unforgettable. I recommend trying the smoked octopus starter and the ox tail. And if they have it, be sure to ask for their grilled barracuda cooked to medium doneness. You won't regret it!
Three of us came to the antillean, one who can neither cry nor eat milk, another who does not like fish, and the third who eats no red meat! and it was absolutely in order. the restaurant has a well prepared list of all allergens in every dish that they have left with us. we ordered us for three, two kevich, four small dishes and a big one. that was a lot. we could find dishes that we could share between us and vegetarians who had no wheat or milk to share between us three. the food was excellent, varied, really nice flavor and a genuine selection, extremely fresh ingredients and very delicious. excellent value and it is worthwhile for food.
In the premises previously occupied by The Baltic, Antillean had much to live up to. The noise level was noticeable on entering the street door, the noise was from music rather than people, the restaurant was only half full. Such was the noise level that we oldies found it hard to hear what the waiter was telling us. Disappointingly the Barracuda was off, as were the Oxtail patties, both something we wanted to try. We settled for a starter of mackerel with lightly pickled vegetables for me and sweet corn patties with green salsa for my companion. The plates were small, but fine tasting, and adequate as starters. We both opted for braised oxtail with sweet potato mash as mains. The oxtail was off the bone, and perfectly cooked, as was the sweet potato and the small jug of jus which accompanied the dish. We had asked if a portion of rice and peas to share would be needed, but we’re told it wasn’t necessary, but I think it would have been fine. The Picpoul white with the starter was good, the bottle of Languedoc red was excellent. Service was a little slow, but there weren’t many staff around. I don’t think we will be back, mainly because of the high ambient noise level. Would recommend it only to young folks with good hearing, not oldies in their seventies.
