Hotdogs were Not cooked! fries had grease dripping off them. The fries were always greasy, but were good and just right. Not the same anymore, too bad because we loved going there. Will not be going back. Hopefully the animals will enjoy.
Used to go to this place at least 2 twice a week and loved it, but now after going today and seeing that it was under new management and after tasting the food I will probably not be going back again. I got the 5 which is supposed to come with 2 hot dogs, fries and a drink and got 2 hot dogs that were on par with maybe a concession stand hotdog, and got 0 fries. Very disappointed and hope it will improve as time goes on.
Husband went to get chicken gyros, came home and said I wasn't going to be happy. New owners and cashier had no idea what she was doing. Ordered chicken gyros, grilled onions only and honey mustard sauce. Got burnt, dried out chicken, sour cream and one piece of onion. Also got oily fries that we didn't order. All trashed, waste of money. Steve's was a staple in Lombard with repeat customers. This place will not be open long.
New owners since December 2022 and the food is horrible. We ordered chicken gyros, grilled onions only and honey mustard sauce. Got burnt, dried out chicken, one string of onion and sour cream(? . Also got bags of oily fries that we didn’t order. All trashed, waste of money. Steve’s was a solid spot for Lombard residents with plenty of repeat customers. This place will close before summer.
Under new management/owners I believe. Nothing like the old Steve's. Fries were extremely dark, almost black and wasn't from over cooking it was from old dark oil. Don't think they are filtering or changing the oil. Haven't worked in food industry since high school many yrs ago but we would filter oil every night and replace with new oil frequently. Gyro meat was crispy/over cooked. I truly hope they learn and can turn things around.
