Great little cafe just a short stroll from the insanity of the food court. The service here is always good, they do a good coffee. And I am fan of their cafe meals, meals are typical: salads, melts, burgers and sandwiches. The chicken club with chips is a great choice for lunch, I very much appreciate the little bowl of tomato sauce it comes with, plus there are free additional condiments available for diners too. My dining partner's meal was a bit charred and her chip serve was a little on the stingy side but they are usually a decent size serve. I would have lowered the score if I was eating her meal. My club was super yum although the third piece of white bread got tossed and was not missed.
Get in, get out. The girls are all rushing around like crazy and the vibe reflects it. Finished my meal (and my friend her scone) LONG before our drinks arrived. Can't beat the $9ish avo/bacon/egg on turkish, except... corn? why? just why? was great, canned corn just meh not sure about the finely grated, was it parmesan? (didnt' taste like it) ... friends scone was ok, had to ask for butter, then, a knife to spread it with? Self service water... with plastic cups... hot chocolate was to die for, and friend really enjoyed her chai.
I'm basing this review in today's trip as well as others in the past. Usually it's pretty decent but unfortunately today was below par. Ordered a Belgian Waffle with fruit for a treat. It looked wonderful but was really hard to cut through. After a few bites I discovered there was a slightly burnt overcooked section. Don't get me wrong, the Belgian chocolate sauce was yum, my LO enjoyed helping me eat the strawberries and bananas. I think I was unlucky today. I usually come in for a Green Tea Latte or tea which is satisfying. I wish Brisbane would be on a place that's ready to take on the same (more exciting) menu items as the Sydney stores...Like the patbingsu, honey bread and cakes. instagram.com
They weren't kidding when they say "Ultimate Big Breakfast" - at just shy of $18 there is so much food on the huge plate the sides have to be curved to keep it all in! Usually I put in a pretty decent effort when it comes to "Big Breakfast"s and nearly always eat everything bar a couple of mouthfuls or a slice of toast but I got to 2/3 of my plate when I was starving and now I'm going to have to be rolled out of here. Very fresh and satisfying, great taste and doesn't try and be unecessarily fancy. Has all the big breakky favourites with delicious and fresh ingredients. Oh and their chai lattes are made with powder. Will definitely be coming back!
