La Grange restaurant - Les Allues

We come every year 10 years to Meribel and always visit La Grange (Upmarket) restaurant and La Kousiena restaurant, which was rustically served fantastic Savyard food. We were disappointed to find that La Kousiena is related to La Grange and it is... now a modern restaurant that feels a bit like a hotel restaurant. My whole family is quite upset when La Kousiena was our favorite restaurant with a lot of character and we sat before the fire on Christmas Eve and have hot stone. The great historical fire has now disappeared and everything has been renovated. We ordered hot stone in La Grange and it came with salad and chips, not the traditional cooked potatoes and it was simply not the same. The staff was very friendly and friendly and service was good. The Grange has not the same raised feeling that it had when there were two separate restaurants, one was on the market and one was rustic. Too bad, but I appreciate the sign of time.

We were on half board option. Excellent food with good variety during the week. Very friendly young team that was always helpful. Beautiful sunny terrace.

The last time I visited this place I did not have a great experience. According to fact that we have visited this restaurant several years ago and enjoyed it that time, my husband and I decided to come there again on the 23rd of Jan...2022. Despite the delicious taste of the food, we faced some issues with the service. Firstly, we were quite surprised that the restaurant did not have different languages on the menu, even English. Considering the fact that Meribel is a world known luxury resort where people come from around the world, it is quite bizarre that restaurants may have only a French menu. Secondly, I ordered a plate with a white fish and was shocked to discover a piece of plastic (approximately 3cm x 3cm) there. However, after we told the waiter and the manager about it, they just took the plate and left, without any apologies, which I found quite rude and unprofessional. The restaurant positions itself as a high quality, and I hope it will try to match with this level.

We came here with my family of 3 for a dinner on Saturday night with no prior reservation. The food we ordered was fantastic, especially I liked Escalope (it was huge!! , hot wine was very good, risotto pleasant and service very good and welcoming. We...truly enjoyed our dinner!

Excellent food and simply superb service very helpful and highly recommended, once the sun went down it was too cold to continue to dine outside so we were directed inside stunning restaurant Brilliant staff
