Mephisto - Leipzig

Found it by accident, but glad I did. I was looking for an espresso. It was a late afternoon stop (19:00), on a Saturday, so nothing was going on. But it’s definitely filled away for another time.

Visited during a usual live music “show” with animated interior items-got to see to understand, was nice. Got really nice White Russian cocktail,Mephisto bar-great piano and ambience performance, great White Russian)

Great cocktails and laid back vibe visit from the Mephisto later in the eve was a welcome change of pace!!!

Located in probably the most iconic passage in the city. It’s got a Goethian flair I very much enjoyed. Lovely cakes and great coffee served by very friendly and competent personnel. What I really loved was the devil’s laughter coming from the ceiling. If you want to know what I’m talking about, indulge in an excellent piece of cake and a great cup of coffee and wait for the hour to come ....

I had never heard the devil laugh before ... lovely cakes and coffee in the middle of a typical Leipzig passage. You can’t miss this cozy café.
