Leesburg Public House

We’ve lived in the area for years but only recently decided to try this restaurant after our friends raved about it. It was just my husband and I on a rare Friday night date night. The outside of the restaurant is nothing spectacular. In fact, the curb appeal is definitely lacking. However, inside is a different story! The atmosphere was great with a bar area that has seating/tables around and then more booths and tables around the outside walls. One of the bartenders was our server (even though we were not seated AT the bar) and he was great, pleasant, personable, and attentive. We were only drinking water but he made sure to fill them regularly. We were impressed that he could be so attentive considering the bar also had all the seats full. We ordered the bacon popcorn to start and I also had the LPH salad (side salad) to start. The popcorn was hot and fresh and the bacon crumbles and bacon grease gave it a nice flavor. The serving could easily feed four or more people. It was good. But it’s still just popcorn. So not really a huge wow factor. The salad with the white balsamic vinaigrette that comes on it was really good. And a good size for a starter salad. For our meals my husband got the fish and chips and I had the Carpenti Chicken Alfredo. It was all fantastic! Homemade fettuccini noodles and the chicken on the pasta was sliced thinly so you could enjoy a perfect sized bite. The fish and chips were hot and flavorful and the fries were tasty. My husband turned down the malt vinegar but they would have been the bomb with some vinegar on them! What really stood out to us at this visit was the service. There was as an issue with my food and high I did not discover until after I’d eaten a bit. When we told the bartender, he was immediately apologetic and said he would take care of it right away. The manager then came over and he was so very apologetic. You could tell he was genuinely sorry it had happened. He asked if I would like something else or anything. I told him the pasta had tasted awesome so far, so I’d like just another one of those. He had it out to me in maybe five minutes. Hot and fresh. And again, so apologetic. I think it also helped that we weren’t jerks about it and understand that sometimes things happen. He then came back and told us that he had taken the pasta off our bill and offered us dessert. I had the pretzel chocolate chip bread pudding and my husband had blueberry cheesecake. Both were awesome. We will definitely be back to try other dishes. We love supporting local businesses and this is one where the customer service really stands out. Highly recommend!

Lph burger and the Bavarian pretzel is a great combo. Awesome draft selection. Fish and chips here are great too.

Update: July 2024 $8 for a 10oz pour for a LAGER? NYC isn’t even this expensive. Great pub. Odd location. You can rack up a tab very quick here! You've been warned. Otherwise I'd come here even more! The tap selection is one of the best in the area. Kelsey does an absolute marvelous job with the tap selection. She is the best. Bradley is smokin aces as well and is irreplaceable. I do wish their happy hour selection was open to all of their taps. Overall, great vibe inside this fine establishment. Download the Uber app because you're going to need it. One of my favorite local spots. Excellent staff. They are the backbone of this successful operation. Love me some LPH.

It should be EZ to have a burger at 9 pm on a Saturday in Leesburg right? Well it IS at the Public House! We called at 9:15 pm THEY ANSWERED their phone! “ yes please come in , our kitchen closes at 10 pm “. Upon arrival there were only two other parties finishing dinner at the bar. A wonderful server named Gabriel yes he is a saint put us at ease and said “take your time no rush” Despite that were now the only customers remaining , manager Steve and his team created an incredible burger and shrimp tacos for us! Really top notch quality fare at the end of their Saturday evening work shifts! We were blown away! THANK YOU Public House for doing everything right! So if you are hungry and it is after 9 pm, just go there! You will be happy you did. CJP

I was in town and this place had high reviews. Placed a pickup order and waited the 30 minutes, when I got inside it still wasn’t ready. Once I got into my room down the road and opened the container I was not impressed. The shrimp tacos were piled with tons of soggy slaw and other vegetables. I ended up scooping all of it out and left just the shrimp and tortilla. It was all so soggy and the tortillas were tough like they were old. As I said I was in town visiting and specifically requested plastic utensils and napkins and none of it was in there.
