Contribuiți la feedbackI had a friend visiting PDI in April so I suggested going one evening to a restaurant on the boardwalk bordering the beach. I warned him that one didn 't go to this area for the cuisine: the main the only draw was the view. My preferred spot was Casa Juan because it is superbly situated and the waiters are friendly. However as we approached Casa Juan, the guy touting for business from the restaurant next door (Casa Veramente Italia stopped us and persuaded us to try his place. He was charming, friendly, all smiles. It was an act, but my companion was impressed enough to say Let 's give it a go! Once we were ensconced, that was the end of the friendliness. I had faintly hoped that the use of the word veramente in the restaurant name might be an indication of authentic Italian cooking. Vana esperanza! The waitress was surly and belligerent, the melon (with parmesan ham tough and tasteless and the pasta course (tortellini was clearly some cheap, commercial brand that I would be ashamed to cook for myself at home. The wine was truly appalling guaranteed hangover material. From start to finish of our meal the friendly guy never once looked at us, let alone enquired if everything was ok (probably as well . There were only about six people eating (I nearly wrote dining for a place like that! there, but no one on duty seemed even to notice when we were leaving. A more cynical example of get them in, then forget about them I have yet to see. Back to Casa Juan the next time I want to experience sunset over the dunes!
