We searched up “breakfast restaurants” in the area with 4 or more stars. Google maps had this place at a 4.6, so we thought we would give it a try. When we drove up we found parking a little cramped. Driving one vehicle and a truck pulling a Uhaul trailer we parked down the road and walked. Entering the restaurant the young lady that greeted us sounded like she wasn’t happy to see us at all “how many?” and gave us a wait time that sounded like she hoped we would reconsider and go somewhere else, but we said “it’s fine, no problem, we’ll wait” she came back a few short minutes later with attitude and sat us. She sat us right behind the wall next to the restrooms at the bar. It was cramped and seemed strange that the place would be so small since we had to walk all the way around the building to get in. My husband said he thought there was a larger dining area on the other side because he could hear voices coming from that end. I got up and went down to the other end and sure enough there was a main dining area there. I went back and joined my family at our table and waited. Our server was very nice. The food took a little while to come out, but it looked very fresh. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, one waffle with vanilla cream cheese and fresh fruit. My son ordered the biscuits and gravy plate. My husband ordered a breakfast plate. We tried a little of everything brought to our table. Here’s what we really enjoyed: the eggs (cooked to perfection), the hollandaise sauce (so rich and creamy), the bacon (perfect thickness and meat on each strip), sausage (great seasoning and tender), the waffle cream (a light vanilla with smooth and buttery cream cheese), fresh fruit (no spoiled or squishy pieces), the biscuits without the gravy (the biscuit was buttery, soft and had great flavor) and the waffle (the breading was dense but soft and had great flavor) Here’s what we didn’t like: that the hash browns were greasy, the gravy (it was very bland and black pepper content was through the roof and made it too intense to eat), the giant sugar crystals in the waffles, the seating and the attitude from the hostess. Other than that it was an overall good experience. I would definitely go back. I would just ask to be seated in the main area and order things a little differently. Thank you to our server for making us feel so welcome and for taking such good care of us.
Great place for brunch. Gluten free options for a small upcharge. Fast seating and friendly quick service.
I was recommended by a friend to this place, he really loves this place. I didn't have the same experience.
My friend Michelle N. and I went for their new dinner hours. The cedar plank salmon was awesome and cooked perfectly with a light Asian sauce, I got the side salad sub for broccoli which was a great option. Parmesan fries were tasty. Raspberry margarita was good but a little heavy on the raspberry. The roulade chicken special, I forgot the name, was good but could do without the thick tomato cream sauce. Michelle thought a light green chile sauce might be a good option. Server bartender was very sweet and attentive and manager stopped to visit with us. Prices were good. Overall a great dinner. Can't wait to go back for the salmon when I'm in Cruces.
The waitress was very nice and our service was good. I ordered the savory crepes with chicken, Gouda cheese and hollandaise sauce and was very disappointed. There was a sea of sauce and the crepe in the center was cold and had four small chunks of chicken on top. I might go back and try something else next time.
