Miyako - Lake Charles

The most delicious sushi I've ever had. This restaurant is actually a 6 out of 5 stars. The phenomenal service, the stellar food and the untouched dining room conditions are to be expected. I highly recommend eating here, even if you are on a budget (they have an excellent selection of lunch and happy hour specials).

Never disappointed by a culinary experience in this hidden gem of a restaurant. Service is beautiful and personable, low lights, quiet atmosphere, spectacular food and presentation at the price. Miso soup, appetizers, Hibachi and all the reels I had were great. Cowboy Roll is a new favorite and comes up with a thin slice of meerrot and peppered steak.

Our server said it was her first day, but she did great! We tried 3 sushi rolls and everyone was amazing! The prices are good! My only complaint is fried rice, which was not good at me at all. Overall it was good and we will definitely be back!

The food is excellent, and the owners/kitchen are wonderful people. Your 2-for-1 lunch special is great. However, I noticed that they are often short-circuited in servers during peak times. This leads to their servers appear stressed and absent-minded. Do not go if you are on a strict time frame, but otherwise an excellent setup.

The atmosphere was really good. The udon that I had was a bit on the salty side, but still good. However, it took an extremely long time to get our food, and mine came out about 10 minutes later than everyone else at my table. Over all, I would recommend as long as you're not in a hurry.
