Don Carvoeiro - Lagoa

Went here twice during a one weeks stay second time was for a birthday celebration. Table for 10 of us both times good quality food and drink and good service, with nice view over the beach!

The location and the view over the bay is the only good thing about this restaurant. They were the worst meals we had all holiday. The fish was so over cooked we had to send it back as it was inedible. The second time was better but new potatoes were grey! There were two lasagnes both clearly just microwaved but still cold in the middle. Pizzas were soggy in the middle. Pastas were just about ok. The beef stroganoff was way too salty. The best option was the pirate kebab octopus cooked just right but chips served with it tasted of dirty oil, not fresh. Even the gin had a strange mouldy tang to it. To top it all the staff were sullen, no apologies at all when two meals had to be sent back, no offer of alternatives or money off and no farewell when we left. DEFINITELY AVOID.

Awful Service. We have been coming here for many many years through Tia Ilda and now Don Carvoeiro. We have really loved this restaurant forever. Tonight the service was utterly appalling. Awful. The younger guy was dismissive and rude. Just awful awful awful.

Zuvor das Restaurant tia Ilda=freche tante. auch zu dieser Zeit war es sehr gut und änderte sich nicht nach der Namensänderung. die Umgebung ist moderner. Einer der Kellner arbeitet seit 18 Jahren dort und wir waren in den letzten 20 Jahren Gäste, wenn wir außer Platz sind, also alle paar Jahre. Essen ist immer super und schnell auf dem Tisch und der Service perfekt.

Big portions! monkfish kebab was very good at any case for the intention a tourist place, so not expect it to be.
