James' Place - La Jolla

We had dinner with another couple before attending a game, and it was my husband and my first visit. Our friends have dined here several times before heading to the La Jolla Playhouse and have always enjoyed their meals. We had a fantastic experience. Our waiter was very attentive and offered excellent recommendations for both food and wine. Since we didn't want to spend much on wine, we appreciated his suggestion, which turned out to be very good. For our appetizer, we ordered the rainbow roll, which was fresh and delicious. I also thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp fried rice and lobster; they were both excellent. Overall, we loved our dinner and appreciated the ambiance. The restaurant's proximity to the La Jolla Playhouse was convenient, allowing us to relax without feeling rushed. Our waiter even kindly informed us when it was time to head to the game.

This place is fantastic! The sushi is delicious, with large rolls and incredibly fresh ingredients. The appetizers are perfect for sharing and packed with flavor. I highly recommend it!

You have to come to sushi, it's really fresh. If not at least come for the Gelato. Both you will come back for more when you live in this area because they don't have much competition. The prices aren't so high because we're talking about La Jolla here. I haven't eaten much since Kovid, but I've got a lot to go.

Split a burger, it was great! We ate before going to LA Jolla Playhouse. Recommend when going to the La Jolla Playhouse. Friendly service.
