Overall for a bistro you can't go wrong, great food with a bar in the next room amazing staff happy to serve all your dinning needs with a child friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend the Champion Bistro.
New menu great atmosphere, had dinner last night food was superb. One not to miss. Nick the Manager was friendly, A MUST try if you are in the Clayton area!
This little south-east gem is back open for business, delivery your favourite meals at excellent prices. Meals around $15-$25 dollar and great wines and craft beers to match. The BEST Parma I've had south of Melbourne. Open every day for Lunch and dinner, one not to miss. Super friendly staff newly revamped interior! A MUST try!
Champions bistro champion food : . We took my mother, a very deserning diner, out to champions and boy was she impressed as were we, food was interesting, delightful and innovative ... Dining area had been described as a bit ' bowls club ' but we did not feel like we were at the local RSL, it was a little sparse, but still ok. Staff were helpful and informed always a good sign. Overall a delightful and pleasant evening. We would recommend this place to anyone and I will be doing just that. Thank you we will be back.
Wow, wow, wow and triple WOW!!!!. This was my second visit to Champions Bistro. I went the first time with work for a celebratory lunch and was so impressed that I had to bring my wife here too. I 'm not big into fine dining but the lunch that we had on this visit just blew me away. The though and creativity put into the dishes that we were served were just amazing. Pure genius.Although the decor at Clayton Bowlis is very simple the service and most importantly the food is what you come here for. If you want to impress go to Vue De Monde and pay $200. If you want food without the $100 charge for the view come here. Although I did find that pristine view of the bowling lawns to be quite beautiful. Now onto the food.We started with some random kitchen snacks. 1. Crispy Barramundi Skin with Beer Batter Ice cream The textures and flavours were crazy good.2. Kangaroo Tendon with Praline Like a massive prawn cracker and I seriously could 't believe how this was made when it was explained to me and who would even think about doing something like that just blew my mind.3. Devilled Eggs Two different meringue sandwiched with a subtle mustardly cream. Just popped in my mouth and melted away.4. Roasted Romanesco Broccoli It was posh Cauliflower Cheese. A large floret, slight charred from the roasting with cripsy thin cauliflower crisps, gooey cheese sauce and there was also bone marrow somewhere in there too. I could almost lick the plate.5. Fresh Sour dough Bread with homemade butter It 's bread but it is warm and so damned good. I wanted to finish the lot but had to resist with all the other food still to come.5. Grouper with Wallaby Tail sauce Delicately cooked grouper with a savoury meaty sauce. Lucky I saved some bread b/c I was hand when I used it to mop up every drop of sauce.6. Char grilled Roo with Beatroot and Raspberry The roo was cooked rare, on a Bincho...I think, I was too mermerized by the food but I 'm sure i heard that. The roo and cut like butter and was beautifully cooked. Matched well with the beets and dehydrated raspberries added a little, sweet, tart and crispy bits to the dish.7. Cheese Sandwich We were presented with a small cardboard box which contained the 'Sandwich '. Cardamom crisp with triple brie and shallots cooked in pear juice. I devoured and I wanted more, more, more.8. Smoked milk ice cream, plum sauce and sorrel granita the gentle smokey ice cream with a sweet, and sharp plum sauce and the sorrel granita was lemony, slightly sweet. 9. Was like a deconstructed Choc ganache tart Has smears of ganache, crumb of some kind, a quenelle of choc ice cream and a few cripsy chocolate biscuity discs.The whole meal was Wow, WOW, WOWW!!!!!!I recommend everyone who wants a memerable meal to come down and experience the genius of Clinto and his team. I found out that they won 't be at Clayton Bowls for too much longer. Seems they are going to take a break in Sept and then find a new place to serve their degustation meal. I assume it might be somewhere hip and trendier like inner burbs of East or SE Melb and say good bye to the $80 price. You 'll end up paying prob double that.Get down quick before they move and enjoy one of the best value fine dining experiences that Melbourne has to offer.
