Welcome to the first Irani cafe. A bit of a trivia : . Cafe Irani Chaii, owned by filmmaker Dr Mansoor Showghi Yezdi. . The two ‘I’s in chaii which stand for India and Iran. . Filmmaker Dr Mansoor Showghi Yezdi, has built this rich Irani cafe culture and to maintain the friendly ties between Iran and India. .They open early morning at 6am and shut shop at 11pm. Come experience their mirror panelled walls, chequered tablecloths, ornate wooden designs bentwood chairs a contented cat purring at the entrance. What we ordered : Bun Maska buns smeared with generous amounts of butter along with the Irani Chai Just take a bite and sip or dip and bite of chai together with bread is one of a kind combination. Mutton Kheema Pav Deliciously made the kheema is juicy but not with too much gravy. It is dry enough to be savoured with bread (pav). A must have... Mutton white biryani (Sunday special only) The white rice was light and fluffy with flavour, and half a potato on top. The meat was tender the pieces were suffice . The biryani was flavourful with a sort of spice that will leave a memorable delight. Pallonji’s raspberry soda lemonade soda A sweet soda based on the flavour kinda drink you can have with your meal Chicken lollipop Your usual, deep fried chicken noodles is delicious unique blend of tastes Veg Samosa Nothing exciting The Warm Hospitable Welcome by Mr Ali his wonderful patient staff added up to a most memorable, savoured moment for me my family. Overall everything was perfect i would recommend everyone to experience the iranian delicacies.
It serves great non-veg food which is well within pocket. The portions are also big. We tried keema samosa, keema pao, brun maska, paneer bhurji, chicken lolipop, chicken dhansak and finished it all with Irani Chai. Chicken dhansak has the distinct Irani flavor, it is neither too spicy nor bland. The gravy is thick. Brun maska was a new experience. We were told by the person serving us that it is a 'kadak item ' and it was that with maska spread liberally on it. I would love to try this place for breakfast.
