Very nice staff, fine cake selection, also hot dishes are available here. We had Frankfurter Kranz and chocolate cream cake this afternoon. The coffee was really strong and delicious. Tea in large double-walled tea glass. I cannot say anything at the prices; I was invited. Recommended

This is a review of Cafe ' Bonnen , at the corner of the Aachener Str. Melaten Belt in Cologne (Cologne:) Despite the previous negative comments from other reviewers claim, this cafe ' is definitely worth a visit, and despite not close to downtown Cologne (Cologne). Even if it's just... the dream of a pancake, the Cafe ' Bonnen Cherry Pancake (fluffy,thick, many cherries and coarse sugars). And the apple cake is so good. But this cafe ', open for breakfast early in the morning, has so much more to offer, including a generous selection of cakes (Florentiner Cherry Cake is my favourite),Danishes,Streusels and German-style Donuts (Berliner). Plus a good selection of breads, beans and prepared sandwiches. And this is before Christmas time, on sale are also Christmas favourites, such as cleats, ginger bread, chocolates, etc. With an appetite for something more hearty? Your menu offers the usual cafe '/snip style meals, soups, salads,Frankfurters with potato salad, Strammer Max (fried egg cooked ham on a piece of rye bread potato salad,) etc. There are also Daily Specials (day card). My wife and I tried the Königsberger Klopse (3 meat balls, boiled potatoes, pickled beets). Portions are on the small side. But we don't mind because a Cherry Pancake was waiting. Washrooms: Like so many other older restaurants, pubs and cafes in Cologne, the Bonnen has its washrooms in the cellar, a LONG set of stairs no elevator.)
