Chen's Chinese - King William

I've been visiting Chen's for over seven years, and it remains my favorite restaurant whenever I return to my hometown. They offer fantastic choices for both meat lovers and vegans/vegetarians, and the owner is incredibly friendly. I highly recommend this place!

I recently mentioned the same about the Hong Kong restaurant across the street, and this place is quite similar to many other Chinese takeout spots. The menu features the same dishes, familiar names, and comparable prices. They are quick and dependable, and while the food isn't extraordinary, it's certainly good and consistent. If you're in the mood for Chinese takeout, this place is as good as any. The staff are very friendly as well.

The food was quite disappointing. It lacked seasoning and was extremely greasy. They took an additional 40 minutes to prepare my $15 order compared to what they had originally quoted. When I ordered a dish that wasn't made in the traditional way, there was no indication or warning about the difference in preparation. When I pointed this out and requested a different dish, the staff was unhelpful and rude. I overheard them speaking poorly about me, assuming I wouldn’t understand their language because I’m white. I would recommend going to a place like Hong Kong instead; it's worth spending a little more for authentic Chinese food rather than what feels like cafeteria food.

I consistently enjoy my experiences picking up food from this place, and the taste is always delicious and reliable.
