Contribuiți la feedbackMy family and I visited Austin and chose breakfast in Astor because the menu looked so different than a tipical breakfast restaurant and it was not disappointed. It was not only the variety and delicious taste of all the delicious dishes, but how nice and humble was to get the owner/cook to stop at our table to check on us. We loved everything about it; Food, beautiful place and great service. We're definitely coming back. Thank you.
Wow! We went first when this was a tiny place in a different location and decided to see how it had changed. Now Chef Casey still creates amazing dishes and his staff is also great. The flavors of food from appetizers to the main course just blow away. The drinks are also pretty good. Can not beat great friendly service, amazing food, delicious drinks, and a cook owner who cares! recommend this place.
So... I usually take a picture of the food, but it smelled and looked so delicious that everything I have to show is an empty plate. The food was delicious. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the beef and the chicken empanadas... the beef was my favorite, but the chicken was also delicious. I had Belgian waffles with the Peri Peri Chicken Breast a sunny side egg, potatoes and bacon. The chicken was perfectly seasoned. I enjoyed the food very much. I will return to try the oxen and some of your drinks options....guide the good kitchen.
Great fresh food, friendly atmosphere very good service. Had the mango salad, very nice and tasty, my daughter had the steak and egg breakfast plenty left to take home to the guys. Will definitely be back with Dad and brother.
First impression Walking into Astor was definitely a good one. A warm host invited us to sit among a bustling Sunday brunch. The dining room and the staff were sharp and professional. Our fwellow patrons were having a good time and digging into their meals. Astor offers a good mimosa spacial and a tea menu. They have much to offer from continental, to South American to South African cuisine. Our server was great. She answered all our questions about the menu so we knew what would suit us best. Our apstizers came out quickly and they really hit the spot. One look at our empinadas told me a treat was in store. The chicken and beef empinadas were just perfect. Warm, flakey and crunchy. Perfectly treated with a wonderful chimichurry. Herbaceous and full of flavor. We also ordered a delicious cheese stuffed croissant. I regret I cannot remember the name of the dish. These snacks also came with a creamier sort of dip. Cilantro, herbs and South American spices paired Perfectly with the warm gooey snack. For my main, I choose the South African lamb curry. This plate was everything you want in a curry. Warm, tender and inviting like a big hug from your best friend. The seasoned rice could not have been more flawlessly cooked and was just what the doctor ordered to help me gobble up all my curry. The plantains gave a wonderful, subtle and earthy sweetness to compliment the curry lamb. Perfectly seasoned all the way around with great texture to boot. From what I tried of my lady's plate I can say the South American breakfast was fabulous. The beans, eggs and shredded beef had all the flavor and warmth you want for a patio brunch on a cool morning. I could not get enough of their herbed roasted potatoes and French toast. The French toast was savory and fluffy as all French toast should be. Astor even went the extra mile to serve warm syrup with the toast. I mean, what's not to like? The service and atmosphere made for a great brunch experience. They even had a DJ on the patio. Not too loud not too soft. Music that grooves but is chill enough to vibe for a lazy Sunday.
