Julep - Kansas City

I had made a reservation for the Halloween pop-up event at this restaurant, but when I arrived, it wasn't ready yet. I was disappointed that there was no mention of this beforehand and we were seated in the regular bar area with some Halloween decorations on the table. We were seated at 5:45, but our server didn't come by to take drink orders until after happy hour had ended. The drinks were average and not very exciting, and seemed overpriced for what we received. The drink pictured cost $26 for 2 servings, but only filled the rocks glasses about 1/3 of the way. This experience taught me not to be swayed by gimmicks. Overall, the bar was nice, but the Halloween pop-up event was not as enjoyable as expected.

This cocktail bar in the uptown area of Kansas City is fantastic. The cocktails are delicious and the staff is incredibly friendly. The atmosphere in this neighborhood is the best. They have an excellent whiskey menu with detailed descriptions of the different regions. The prices are very reasonable, and parking is convenient.

I really enjoyed the drinks at this restaurant! They were priced fairly for the excellent quality, taste, and presentation. I ordered the classic Julep and the house chips, while my wife opted for the fries, which were crispy and looked fantastic. I would suggest adding some seasoning to the fries or offering loaded fries as an option on the menu.

Very good variety of better than average, but not top notch, bourbon. Enjoyed a glass of Weller 12, which I was very excited to find since it is next to impossible to find in California.
