Big City Food Diner - Kalamazoo

Fantastic, authentic Mexican cuisine (not Tex-Mex) with exceptional service. I ordered the Bistec Encebollado (thinly sliced grilled steak with onions) served with rice and beans (refried beans) and a choice of tortillas (corn or flour). I also enjoyed a Mexican Coke made with cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. I'll definitely be coming back frequently!

Lolita's is a truly authentic place with amazing food and great people. It's definitely gone, but it's worth visiting. Try the Especial Lolita!

I went to Lolita for the first time. I strongly recommend ordering something to eat here. Mexican style chickens and steak tacos were DANK (very good). Excellent tacos; good price. Come on!

The food here is excellent and reasonably priced. I tried the signature dish, which consists of several chicken enchiladas topped with three different sauces, and it was delicious. My friend ordered the wet burrito, and we were both amazed when it arrived—it’s enormous! She could only manage to eat half of it. Everything had a distinctly Mexican flair, from the TV channel playing in the background to the staff and most of the diners, even the soda was Mexican. It's a really great spot for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxed authentic Mexican dining experience.

Ambiance is lacking, but the food is fantastic. Make sure you try both the barbacoa and the pastor. The poblano pepper stuffed gordita is delicious and if they have agua fresca, get it! Dined in one, already went back for take out!
