Saturday morning, 10:15 am. We quickly sat down in a decent and calm atmosphere. The restaurant wasn't full, but just okay, with the 3 waitresses in control. Our coffee was served within 10 minutes, as well as the hot chocolate for the children (which was quite reasonable)... the only downside was that it took 45 minutes to warm up and of course, the children had nothing to drink when they received their dishes. But let's go back a bit. 10 minutes after the coffee, a second waitress took our order. When one of us ordered the famous "Breakfast Poutine" (which was excellent), a special request was made: to replace the scrambled eggs with two over-easy eggs on the Poutine. Many restaurants do this and it's not an unreasonable request. The waitress agreed and said she would ask the chef. But long story short, the chef refused. It's within his rights... just like the person making the request has the right to refuse to order/eat in this case. In short, it's the chef who decides. Additionally, the coffee was charged at the regular price (no refills). However, Mrs. Dubé is an exceptional waitress as she tried to salvage the situation with her kindness. Coq Roti: We visit your restaurant 5 times a year, always with 10-12 people (bills ranging from $120 to $250 depending on the meal). In a competitive environment, perhaps it's worth reminding the chefs that an extra 3 minutes for a dish can pay off in the end. But maybe they are the ones running the restaurant...
On this Friday, September 30th, we decided to try a new restaurant that is a fusion between Le Coq Rôti and Sorrento Pizzéria. The restaurant is quite nice. The atmosphere is pleasant. The waitresses are kind and very polite. The biggest downside is the entrance for a handicapped person. Firstly, they should not be alone as they will be stuck outside!!! There is a wheelchair ramp that is decent, but the door is not wheelchair accessible... It is difficult to open even on two legs when accompanying someone in a wheelchair! Another negative point is the very slow service!!! The chicken is good but nothing special, the sauce is excellent, the salad is ordinary, and the fries are good but lukewarm... If we were to go back or order again, it would definitely not be the chicken, it would be the Sorrento pizza in hopes that it is as good as the one in Chicoutimi!!!
