Monterrey Mexican - Jonesboro

The margaritas are absolutely bomb and strong. Prices are about 10-20 a plate per person. Food is just ok in my opinion. Some dishes are definitely better than others. Service was great, our waitress was extremely nice and attentive. They almost always have a game playing on the TV too. The only negative thing that I can really think of are the restrooms. Men's and women's are just one stall and not the most pleasant. There's usually a wait to use it. One restroom for about 80 people is not the funnest. As long as you don't use, you're good! I would still come back though.

So I?ve been eating here for about 20 years and a lot has changed since. Not only did the remodel the restaurant. But everything else changed as well. The restaurant use to give off a homey vibe. Made you feel like you was at a family gathering but now it feels a little cold. The food is still good but you can tell it wasn?t made with love like it use to be. They no longer serve virgin daiquiris which has been my go to drink since I was a little girl. And I do not drink. Nonetheless, go eat here. It?s good. I just miss the old Monterrey.

I’m always satisfied when I dine here. The frozen margaritas are perfectly frozen, just the way I love them—not half melted by the time they arrive at my table. I consistently order the same dish: Enchiladas Supreme, which includes chicken, beef, and cheese. It feels like the ultimate meal!

Absolutely amazing and authentic Mexican cuisine! The staff is extremely friendly, and the margaritas are both delicious and potent. The tamales and tacos are exceptional as well. I highly, highly recommend Monterrey!

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant on the Southside, and I’ve been dining here for over 25 years! The food is delicious, and the large Texas margaritas are fantastic. The staff definitely deserves two thumbs up as well. The prices remain reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes. The dining room has recently been remodeled and feels open and airy, although it does have fewer seats now. Be prepared for a wait on Friday and Saturday evenings. One downside is that the restrooms still look outdated; they haven’t changed much since 1997 when I first started coming here. While there has been fresh paint and new flooring, not much else has been updated.
