Beach House Tap Room - JEKYLL ISLAND

Nice evening in February. Great beer selection. Very good service. Most food very good, though pricey. Some gumbo was less than satisfying- stodgy and not much flavor, barely warm. Entrees good- tortellini with seafood very good, but $27? BBQ shrimp special good but messy peel and eat. I imagine this place is packed and lively in summer. about half full this night. PLeasant meal.

The shrimp and grits are outstanding! We got right in and enjoyed the overall experience.

We ate with friends everyone enjoyed the items they ordered. The service was good and fast.

On line photos are deceiving. The booths are dingy and very stained and the pendant lights above covered in dust. Food is unremarkable and not a meal we would have expected from an Open Table reservation. In and out in 45 mins. That being said, the service was friendly and very accommodating.

Shrimp and grits dish was unusual. The shrimp were fried instead of pan sauteed and the sauce was a dark roux. The shrimp and grits were good but I did not care for the roux. Husband's fish and chips were very good with a large amount of fish, fries, and coleslaw. Our waiter was very good.
