This small yet cozy restaurant features about six booths and a large communal table in the center. The waitress appeared overwhelmed when we arrived, as she was busy preparing a large takeout order for ten meals. She informed us that there would be a wait, but we assured her it was fine as long as we could have some coffee. We settled in at the counter while she cleaned the tables, but she repeated the same message to the next five groups that came in. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive our coffee until after we placed our food order. However, the food was absolutely delicious! While it was a bit on the pricey side, the limited supply in this part of Maine makes that understandable.

The food was excellent, but the service left much to be desired. When we first arrived, the restaurant was quite empty. Our waitress took our drink order and said she would return shortly for our food order. However, shortly after, a party of two arrived, followed by a group of eight and then a group of four. She took their drink orders, served them, and took their food orders before finally coming back to us. We ended up waiting over an hour and a half for our breakfast! By the time our food was served, all the other groups that arrived after us had already eaten and paid their bills. After finishing our meal, we asked for the check, which took another 20 minutes. Eventually, we had to go to the bar to request our bill directly. The bottom line is, if you're not a local, you might not feel welcome here. Also, there was a serious cleanliness issue in the women's restroom.

The atmosphere was pleasant. I ordered oatmeal with brown sugar, but they didn't have any brown sugar available, so I was given a spoonful of frozen blueberries instead. It took a while for the bill to arrive. Though coffee was offered, no water was provided. I don’t eat eggs, but others seemed to enjoy their traditional breakfasts. Overall, I’d rate the food a 3 out of 5.
